New Single by Good Things – “It’s Like Losing Everything”

New York Punk Band, Good Things, has a New Single Called “It’s Like Losing Everything”

Poetic heartache put to paper for those lost too soon always deserves a nod of appreciation. Good Things, a band from New York, took the bold journey of describing such loss in their latest single, “It’s Like Losing Everything,” with a music video to accompany it.

The lyrics are impressive with lines like “our apartment – it’s asking questions, where have you been, I’ve been waiting all day.” Such deep imagery, the idea of a presence lost, and the infinite dread of mourning a loved one who answers no more. The video tells a similar story and mixes the themes of love and death through splashes of wedding day memories and funeral progressions inside a church. The complexity of happiness and sadness is illustrated through the raw passion of vocalists Cameron Sacchet. I must admit, I was particularly impressed by Nolan Fitzgerald who plays an epic solo against the backdrop of a stained glass window. This appears to be the first single of hopefully many from this complete and talented band. Check them out by peeping the video below.

So you know, Good Things is made up of Cameron Sacchet (guitar/vocals), Nolan Fitzgerald (guitar), James Nigro (bass), and Alex Alfaro (drums). And for the song, lyrics by Sacchet, additional vocals by Stefanie Sideman & Michael Mastroianni, tracking by AJ Chiarella & Eric Dalton, and mixing and mastering by Eric Dalton.

Looks like Good Things has an upcoming show on August 13 at the Mercury Lounge. If you are in New York, head that way to see what else this band has to offer. The new music video is below, and you can follow them on Facebook at – facebook.com/goodthingsny20.

Cheers, swine.
